soooooooo cute!!

2nd day a little better?

Alright today went a little better ... varied the routine and had my kids packed in the car at about 8:30, which seemed to be the perfect time to leave.  However, I decided to walk and pick Ethan up (made this decision at 11:13 when I had to be there at 11:30) so ... after running, yes running 1/2 the way there I realized I wasn't going to make it on time (where have my time management skills gone?) and had to call a neighbor, who also has a child in morning kindergarten to wait with ethan until I got there.  as I was running I was thinking about the 12 minute mile I had to run in jr. high that about killed me :) what was I thinking trying to make it in 15 minutes pushing 2 kids in a stroller??  well, the walk home was even more interesting.  I think my kids picked up a stick or a rock from every house we passed, which made the walk home not quite as tiring as the run there, but took 45 minutes to get home!!!! I'll have to devise a new strategy for walking if I want to do this again.

failing kindergatern already:)

so I really tried to be prepared for the first day of kindergarten, but as I was rushing out of my house with 5 minutes until the bell would ring I had to reevaluate my strategy.  I thought if I finished feeding the baby at 8:40 that would give me enough time to get there by 8:50 ... right!!  so we get to the school in the pouring rain and I have to cart my baby (in his carseat), mason and ethan out of the car and across the crosswalk as quick as I can because as I mentioned before ... we were running a little late.  So, I get into the classroom with Mason and the baby and I quickly look for ethan so I can show him where he needs to put his back pack and come sit down ... well, I can't find ethan anywhere.  I go back outside to see if he's out there and he's not. He's gone into the other kindergarten class:)  so i get him into his classroom, run him to his chair, give him a quick kiss and as I'm leaving I realize that I didn't fill out his "getting to know you paper and attach a picture", which most of the other kids in the class had sitting in front of them!!!!  I'm already not turning in homework (when did this become about me and how could I be failing already?)
I didn't even have a chance to feel sad about him being in kindergarten because I'm was in too big of a hurry.  After I had left the school and had run home to grab his/my homework and had filled it out and had run it back to the school and decided that I couldn't go give it to him because I didn't want to interrupt his class ... that is when it hit me that I no longer have 24/7 access to my child and I have to say I did tear up a little thinking about it.
Maybe tomorrow will be a better day
Maybe tomorrow I won't hear a wispered "I don't want to go to school"
Maybe tomorrow it won't be raining
but maybe tomorrow my little boy will be all grown up :-(

loving this!!

I am so doing this with my boys

Ethan's first day of school

Ethan, I can't believe you are old enough to be leaving me!!  enough of that though, you are so excited to go to school.  when we have gone to fill out paperwork and other things you always get upset when we have to leave, so... I am going to be ok with you going to school because I know you're going to love it!!  Today was just a practice day.  We both went to your school today and listened to what the teacher had in store for you for the rest of the year.  You just sat there very quietly, looking really bored, not playing with any of the puzzles on the table or anything while the teacher talked to the parents.  While I know you are excited I can also tell you're worried to be away from me as well.  At night we have conversations about whether or not you'll be able to call me if you want to come home.  You've even thought about it enough to ask whether the teacher will dial the number for you so you can come home if you want to.  But I know that you'll get into the whole routine of things and not need to call me to come home:)  I love you!!

Mason's first un-day of school

Mom:  "Ethan it's time to go to school"
Mason: (all excited) "I go to school too"
Ethan: "Mason, that's silly, you're too little to go to school"
Mason: "No Ethan, I not too little"
Mom: "Macy, you're 2 years old, when you're 5 years old you can go to school"
Mason: "Nooooooooooooo, I go to school" (cry cry cry)

poop?

I decided not to post a picture with this :)

So ... my boys have loved loved loved playing in my flower beds this year. Lately it's almost become intolerable for me, but I take a deep breath and tell myself that it's not that big of a deal.
On Monday I sent my bathed and dressed (hair combed, teeth brushed) children outside to get in the car while I packed Zach into his car seat for his dr.'s appt., it had rained the night before, and when I brought the baby out both Ethan and Mason were covered in mud!!! (it was all in their hair and their nice clothes needed stain treatments etc. etc.) GGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRR

however that story does not even compare to my next.

Last night we brought the boys in for the night around 8 p.m. and decided they had to have a bath before bed because they were covered in dirt. well, as I'm taking Mason's diaper off I groan when I see that he has a really bad poopy diaper, but as I'm folding the diaper up I see little sticks ... like what you would see if you put some mulch on your flowerbeds and so I investigate thinking that he had eaten dirt and I was seeing the product of it in his diaper ... at this point I was thinking that he had eaten a LOT of dirt!! well Spencer was brave enough to smell it and then when he gave the all clear I didn't believe him so I cautiously smelled it myself. The conclusion: he or Ethan had filled his diaper, sometime earlier in the day with dirt and after it mixed with liquid it looked exactly like poop minus the sticks, but was in fact just a whole lot of dirt!!!!!

First day of weight loss

Alright, this is the first day of my 4 month goal to lose the baby weight.  I'm not sure the timing is just right (with spencer going back to work today) but when is it ever ...  right?  I'm hoping to lose 40 lbs in 4 months, so I can buy some cute clothes for Christmas:)  I heard it takes 9 months to put it on and 9 months to take it off ... we'll see, I'm still hoping to do it in 4
wish me luck

disappointed with Target photos

So I got all my boys ready this morning (quite the challenge) and took them over to Target for Mason's blessing pictures and our first kids pictures ... well, we had a photographer that did not even try to get my kids to smile and kept telling me that the picture was cute ... rushing me to move on. I will admit that I started to cry by the end of the session because there wasn't a single picture that I liked enough to buy (bought them anyway) so ... afterwards I took my boys up to a photo location I like to shoot at hoping that at noon I'd be able to find some ok light and luckily we did and I got some photos that I'll actually put on my walls. I ask myself why i worry about less than perfect photos when I shoot for other people!! How many times have I been to target or kiddie kandids and not gotten a single picture that I liked. gggggggrrrrrrrr at least it turned out ok in the end!!
